EcoSUAVE 2009
EcoSUAVE 2009 is a green affair for young professionals interested in minimizing their environmental footprint. Together in one setting, guests will have the opportunity to sample delicious wines, beers, and finger foods that have been produced right in our backyard. Attendees will be rest assured that all food and drinks served during the night have been sustainably made with careful consideration to their ecological, social, and financial impacts. To accompany the food and drinks, guests will be able to enjoy LIVE Jazz music, performed throughout the night. Ben D’Cunha and Irene Torres sing duets and solo pieces from the golden era of the jazz standard. Accompanied by Dave Restivo on piano and Artie Roth on bass, Ben and Irene deliver to the listener songs from a variety of composers, from Gershwin and Cole Porter, to Rogers and Heart. EcoSUAVE 2009 is created by Enlightened Events in partnership with Local Food Plus (LFP) to raise awareness for healthy local food production. LFP is an award winning non-profit organization that brings farmers and consumers to the table to share in the benefits of environmentally and socially responsible food production. EcoSavvy Festival 08'
Located in the heart of North York at Mel Lastman Square, the EcoSavvy Festival is an exciting, FREE event for the public, where you can discover local sustainable businesses, learn from knowledgeable speakers about "green" issues relevant to you as a consumer, and enjoy local organic food and LIVE entertainment. The focus of this festival is on educating consumers in making environmentally and socially conscious purchases. With the growing number of companies claiming to be green and ethical, it is becoming increasingly difficult to distinguish which products are truly sustainable. To help consumers “screen through all the green” marketing, this festival will feature informative presentations from environmental advocates and business leaders, as well as showcase sustainable businesses and services that are available to them. It is hoped that at the end of the festival, attendees will understand that every purchase is a vote for their future.
